This was our second digital IBS Expert Talk with the topic Brexit moderated by Christian Ressenaar (IBS) and Ralf-Charley Schultze (UIRR). Joining us was Gavin Roser, Ambassador and former Secretary General of F&L. He spoke about the impact of Brexit on foreign trade in the EU. Maggie Simpson, spokesperson for RFG and the UK Railways Association, spoke about the importance of transport to the continent. Kenneth Russell, Sales and Marketing Director of John G Russell Transport Ltd, spoke about the adaptation of the Russell Group’s logistics solutions. Dr Hans-Jürgen Weidemann, CTO and member of the board of CargoBeamer AG, spoke about the experiences at the UK and EU interfaces. Last but not least, Kay-Uwe Müller-Gericke, Senior Account Manager of Transa Spedition GmbH, reported on the opportunities and potentials for rail forwarders via UK-EU ferry services, using the example of Immingham – Cuxhaven. The expert talk was rounded off with an interesting discussion between all speakers.
